Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, is considered by UNESCO to be “one of the world's outstanding urban landscapes”. It is the most populous city of the country. It is situated on the Danube River and was formed in 1873 by merging the towns of Buda and Pest. The famous Chain Bridge was the first link between the two towns.
